Landscapes

“It is only in appearance that time is a river. It is rather a vast landscape and it is the eye of the beholder that moves.”
Thornton Wilder

  1. very good wash (I do not know as they say in English when you paint with ink or paint dissolved in water, in Spanish is called "aguada" this type of work)
always good to experiment and not get stuck.
when you know very well a technique the worst that can happen is that you continue using "forever", and the question is: How do we know and when we know we have mastered a technique? and my answer, surely wrong (some people think that I believe to be right always (do not get mad ....) is: Never.
Ehhh ... Today I had fun playing guitar in Google, do you not? (a genius Les Paul)
Ehh... Your experiments slightly reminded me of Klee (a Total Genius!)

  4. @ The Wrong: Sabias palabras, Mr. The Wrong. I do not make any illusion about my knowledge of painting or drawing technique. It is only my groping ...

I was also playing all day Google guitar. Funny, isn't it?
And Mr. Klee? Yes, he knew, what he did. (thanks!)

@I want to laugh at myself : quote from who? Do you mean O. Wild?
I know only this one ,but it is not from O.W.
“You grow up the day you have your first real laugh -- at yourself,” by Ethel Barrymore . Also nice.

@ merlot, sorry, Syrah: yes and no: I am on the edge - not sleeping nor awakening!

  6. @ indira lakhsmita: sometimes I feel as BB (Bumble Bee): he tries to visit many different flowers to taste their delicious nectar and I try all kinds of different artistic ways to express my ideas ...never ending fight with myself...

  7. Hey BB :) I like that. I can bee BB too, but Bumbly Bee :)

I came the other day and google wouldn't let me comment! No problems with Chrome, just explorer aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

Do you know the bay area figuratives? That top landscape is superb, mirrors some of their work, but you have extracted the essence.

And the bottom work so tonal and harmonious. If these are experiments I think you have had an epiphany - keep working with them, they are superb

  8. @Andew: Hi A"BB"F ! Thanks for stopping by !
Do you still use explorrrrrer ? I thought it is already extinct browser !) Right Chrome is better....

Epiphany, hmm, sounds indeed as a very wise word. Actually it sounds very well. I thing some people have a continuously epiphany, through all their lives and others have only a few quick flashes of sudden revelation or moments of insight.....me...:(
Is it not to much "nonfigurative"? (I do not like to use term abstract, because it is not abstract, nobody knows how abstract look like..or you know, maybe?)
    Thanks for your encouraging words!
