Landscape with a black cloud

“If a given combination of trees, mountains, water, and houses, say a landscape, is beautiful, it is not so by itself, but because of me, of my favor, of the idea or feeling I attach to it.”

  1. This landscape with its tantalizing almost-faces & sensations of slip-sliding & portentous light... well, I say it's beautiful.

  2. Is that you screaming to the heavens; "Where's my MAC, you bastards?!"

My wish for you this year is that you find the culprit and pummel his face in. Is it wrong for me to feel these thoughts? It doesn't feel wrong.. it feels right.

  3. If I said to you that I didn't like this I would be lying. I think Ted has a point...The mac thief should be pummelled a bit..

  6. Hello Art?

Happy New Year to you! :) Ahh can it still be new year? yes until the halfway mark, so say june 30th we can still cebertae up to then, than after June 30th we must start the Old Year's wake, because it is then dieing, isn't that so right?

My shoulder is better almost and now I can type again. Thanks for the new pushie. I'm so glad you are reblogging.

    Now to Business, :)

You know that things that are clear and precise like super focussed photographs have little emotive value to human beings. It's the things that are suggestive, that propose something, that give us an emotional response - because they give us leeway to use our imaginations, to allow us to become involved - and how much more fulfilling are our imaginations than any artwork and real situation can ever be?

So that's why your work is so good, it lets us become involved by giving us the seed and the water and we can imagine whatever kind of plant (or landscape in this case) we want.

    cheese from ear :)

ahh my magic word is 'sneas'.
good that someone else spells worserer than me ...

  8. Obviously the concept of "beautiful" is purely human.
is obviously a lie, beauty and ugliness are two sides of a coin, but none has a greater value than the other
